Frequently Asked Questions
I can't make it to the auditions because we'll be out of town on vacation/at a family graduations, etc, can I still audition? Yes, if you can make arrangements for a time that is convenient for me, I will be happy to try and work with you.
I would have to miss one week of rehearsals because of our annual family vacation, is that okay? Yes, as long as its not during dress rehearsal week. July 19th - the performances, which end on August 1st. You can miss up to three practices. Most people will only practice twice a week.
I work until ________, when will practices be? *I handle this a bit differently than most. On the audition form, you will be asked which blocks of time you are available. When casting, I try to group people in part by not only which part they'd be best at, but also when they are available. Sometimes I will have 7 hours of practices with 4 different groups/scenes throughout the day. Other times, everyone ends up scheduled during the evenings. It completely depends on the cast's availability.
I would like to help out with costumes/backstage/behind the scenes, etc. Can I help? Absolutely. I generally fill all backstage/behind the scenes roles with students, ages 13 - 18. If you have a knack for behind the scenes work, just let me know!
I've never been in a play before, should I try out? Absolutely!! I love working with kids who've never been on stage before. It is a priveledge that I greatly enjoy! I have more fun working with the 'newbies' because they don't already 'know it all':) Just kidding, but honestly, please do try out!
Any questions? Just ask!
